1999 Subaru Legacy Outback code p1507

Question

We have the OBCII code for the 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback with a 2.5L engine. The code is P1507. Intermittently the check engine light comes on and after the engine is shut off and cooled down, the engine light disappears.

P1507 Idle control system malfunction (fail safe)

For this code symptom check and inspect the air intake system for condition,and repair any vacuum leaks. There is also a TSB for this code TSB # TT0404-006 titled engine control DTC p1507,P1540,P500.What the TSB requires you to do is check and inspect the negative battery terminal for corrosion or poor terminal contact.
