On my 1996 Nissan Pickup, 2.4L, Automatic Trans, I have cleared P0400, P0440 and P0446 by changing the Gas Cap, EGR Valve, EGR-BPT Valve, Evap Canister and Evap Canister Vent Control Valve. I now have two new codes and symptoms with them.

P0302 and P1441. Symptoms accompanying this are rough engine operation when cruising. This is not noted when accelerating. Acceleration doesn't seem to be too much affected. 222,300 miles on this truck.

After the truck warms up, a noise begins to emminate from what appears to be the Evap Canister Purge Volume Cotnrol Valve. The noise sounds like a teletype machine on steroids.

I have proofed over the service manual until I'm blue in the face. There are numerous valves, solenoids and vacuum lines that can really be a fault with this portion of the operation and I am wondering if anyone has experienced this?

If the gas cap is good  the Purge Volume Control Valve is the next most common problem

p0302 is a misfire code, maybe a bad spark plug or wire or injector
