Started to drive when check engine light started flashing and lack of power, running rough like it was running out of gas. Steadily got worse till it stalled and I had to pull over. Now it won't start. Put gas in was not out of gas.

p0300 is a misfire code, I would start by checking/replacing spark plugs 

 

P0742 Chevrolet - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Stuck On

you can check/replace tranmission fluid if you have no done it in the last 40k miles 

possible causes:

- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty torque converter clutch solenoid valve
- Torque converter clutch solenoid valve harness or connectors
- Torque converter clutch solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted
- Transmission internal mechanical problem
