P0500 Nissan - 1995

Hi I have a 200 sx 1995 motor GA16 and the light is on so the OBD-II registred 1 code the P0500, the odometrer is working right because it is registred the speed in the indicatores, other scan tell me that is the vss "B" ¿is possible that need change the panel?
¿ what can be the problem?

Vehicle: 1995,nissan,200 sx se,GA16 (1600 cc)
