Question

I have a 2009 GMC Acadia that has set a code of P0451. It is:
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL
SYSTEM PRESSURE SENSOR/SWITCH
RANGE/PERFORMANCE

Can this be related to not getting the gas tank lid on tightly or could there be an actual problem?

P0451 Fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor performance

Yes it can when this code appear the FTP , monitor vacuum decay , when the EVAP system runs.And the signal of the FTP is not in its calbirated range. There is also a Recall on the  fuel tank This can also be a factor with the FTP.
