P0304 Misfire Cyl 4, BMW 745Li, 4.4L V8 2004 103265 miles

Question

Hello there, Every once an a while I get the "Service Engine Soon' when I peddle the car to accelerate to past or merge onto Freeway. It seems as thought the transmission get confused an shutters like it's between two gears and then I get the misfire in cyl#4. I simply shut the engine off and restart and the misfire is gone. What could be causing this? This mostly happens when driving at moderate speeds. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

have you ever replaced the spark plugs within the 100k miles? if not replace it
