I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla with P0340 and P1656, what is the best solution?

Hi there,

The first code is for the cam position sensor, the second is for the variable valve timing control solenoid. If the belt has jumped time, or if the vvt solenoid is not working properly, then you will get these codes together. If the car still runs, then check the oil level and then the vvt solenoid. If it won't run, then check the belt, it's likely a mechanical issue with the timing
