2004 Ford Ranger 3.0 V6 What is and where is it: Power train control module

The truck runs OK except for lack of high end power, sometimes it feels like the transmission is slipping. I pulled a trailer and I did not remove the overdrive. Some one said it may be the Power train control module? Recently installed new plugs, coil. Checked wires OK. Fuel injector OK.
