Does this code, accompanied by shifting probs and check engine light on, mean that I have to take it to the dealer to get fixed, or is it a sensor that I can replace myself? What should I check for? The light goes off once a week maybe and then it shifts fine for a day or so, then on it comes and most of the time it will shift poorly. Help please, I don't have a lot of funds for an expensive car repair and I have a fair amount of automotive repair experience...Tom

P0711 Transmission fluid temperature sensor

P0713 Transmission fluid temperature sensor high input

This is the tranmission fluid temperature causing this symptoms the fix is to replace the transmission fluid temperature sensor, ,There is a TSB on this TSB # 13-AT-012, If you want to replace the sensor yourself the battery and battery tray will need to be removed and also the under cover, remove the transmission pan , and you will be able to access the sensor, the sensor is a new one piece design, which should prevent this code from reappearring.
