What is the main cause for P0793?

Question

Some time VSC, ABS and check engine light come on. Some time I feel that gear shifting is not smooth and some time I feel that if I am pressing the speed pedal there is no power in the car and suddenly the car picks the race.
When ever I scan my car with OBDII scanner, the error code comes P0793. What is wrong with car engine? Is this harmful for engine performance?

P0793- intermediate shaft speed sensor "A"

You can check the resistance of the sensor if its lower or higher than ohms below replace it.
