Hi guys. I have a problem with my Cooper Turbo r56. Have intermittent loss of power in 1st and 2nd gear in which case if I catch the engine revs low in first and second gear and bring up the clutch it encourages the engine to not pull, and at the same time you can hear exhaust audibly increase as gases go through, (excuse the expression but sounds like car farting). To overcome it I have to take out of gear and rev the engine, not too much but enough to bring power back. At the same time the engine idle is a little jumpy and not smooth most of the time which helps it slip into the problem mentioned.
Put car on diag machine and the only fault we are getting is PO599 related to thermostat housing high?? Could this be the cause of the problem or is this a separate incident?
I would be grateful for your response to this.
Very best regards, Bryan Hogan
