Why did dealer replace my cam actuator solenoid after diagnosing a P0106 code?

I had a P0106 code and the GMC dealer never talked about the MAP sensor being the cause. Instead I was led to believe I needed a new Cam Actuator Solenoid. I spent over $900 for this with $574 being labor. My car is still running rough and now giving P0014. It is back at the dealer and I am worried to say the least.

MAP sensor is one of the main possible causes, along with with some other small possiblity of other things in your case cam actuator solenoid. The dealer have the tools to test each item at a time and figure out if that is that was causing the problem
