P0012, P0018 Got these codes on my Mercedes-Benz E350. Is it serious?

P0012 - "A" Camshaft Position - Time Over - Retarded Bank 1

P0018 - Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation Bank 2 Sensor A

 

A P0012 is a generic code for the bank 1 intake cam sensor. The problem is that on the M272 motor that code can be set due to a bad balance shaft in the motor. You could just swap the sensor with the other side and see if you get a different fault code. If it comes back with a P0012 its a problem with something else.
