I own a 2006 Chrysler, PT Cruiser, Auto. Trans., (83,000 miles)

The 'heads-up' Battery light come-on every morning, (no other manual power switches are engaged), usually on 45 degree mornings - and stays on, until I disengage the ignition after driving about 4 miles to work. Once it warms-up outside, the light remains off throughout the remainder of the day and night. The dealership has used their computer to attach to the connector below the steering wheel and the code reads A63 (which seems is an unknown code), but is viable when the battery light is either 'on' (with the engine running), or 'off', with the engine not running.

Everything seems to be working fine, even when the battery light is 'on', and I have had the vehicle completely gone over in n attempt to define the problem. The problem is not the Alternator or the Battery, the connections, or the fuses (fuse block), and yet the light continues to come-on!

Most likely if the alternator is good then the voltage regulator that is built into the engine computer is bad, since this is what controls the charging rate
