The engine coolant sensor is at the left rear of the engine, To test you cooling fans, turn the A/C on, the cooling fans should come on.

The coolant sensor is located at the left rear of the engine (left of throttle body). Sensor is used as an input for the ECM to determine engine temperature. Cooling fans are controlled by relays. Relay are turned off and on by ECM or BCM upon request.
