1998 bmw 318i code p1174-smoke test

Question

Hi,finally i did run smoke test to the intake to find the air leak after i di change the O2,maf,gas filter and boots,valve cover gasket and spark plugs but here the thing ..few days before runing the test i did change the fuel injector ring the small and the large one at the base..
i did run the test using the the opning to the intake from the break booster and seal the throttle boots with a gloves and i see smoke coming some where from under the area of the end corner of the engine with the fuel rail with the injector #4 some where there with help with light and every thing i can not pin down where is the smoke coming from ...?i did ran 2 test ..the same thing the area there has the injector line the upper intake in the top of it it so diffeclut to pin it down,i came long way after 2 month to try to fix the air leak and now i am stuck..as you see i need your help with any idea what could be the leak coming from cause it does not look streatforwerd ..thank in advance

Just pull the upper and lower intake out,You may have to just pull the upper just to get a closer look at where you suspect the leak from.When dealing with P1174 suspect the PCV or what they call the oil drainback valve, look along that routing.
