after installing it i tried resetting it by disconnecting the battery but it now shifts hard, rpms run high and the speedometer stops working intermittedly and the fuel range gauge shows a blank. The coolant temp reads ok as well as the engine temp. do i have to take it somewhere to have the new TCM linked properly to my vehicle, can i reset it myself? replacing the TCM fixed my problem of suddenly jerking when slowing down but now it just feel like its running in the right gear.

You will have to reprogram the TCM (transmission control module) , this ensure that the transmission relearns all its adaptive pressure, and values, More than likely the Dealer has the reprogram capabilitys
