code p2770 on 08 Avalon. car seems to be shifting fine. need I worry?
Ian Lee, walnut creek. my mechanic thinks it's a bad valve. he said it may be a simple fix or it may cost $1,800 if they need to get into the trans.

P2770 Open in the torque convertor shift solenoid.(shift solenoid valve SL)

The TCC (SL Valve) is in the valve body,to replace you will need to remove the transmisssion pan and you might as weill change the filter and fluid,from there you remove the TCC and relace , P2770 means the TCC is open or  there is no connection either this is the harness, or at  the TCM, Why they think they need to get another transmission , thats the problem,Go somewhere else.
