1998 bmw 318i automatic mass flow meter

Question

i do have the code p1174 and the journy to find cure to that i change alot of parts one of them was tha maf ..but when i was trying to find remdy to the p1174 i notice when i take the maf plug wire the transsmition warning light come on then i shut it off and put back the plug in and start the car the light is gone and drive normal ?is any connection between the maf and the transsmition? and if that a sign for weak maf ??pleade help

P1174 Fuel system lean

Sign of a failing MAF will be hesistation on accelereation, Do a MAF cleaning, see if that helps, also look for any vacuum leaks that will give false air , this includes the oil fill cap
