on code P0128 my 07 Isuzu has no thermostat on elbow to radiator how does the engine get hot

bought thermostat for my 07 Isuzu ascender, the part on the engine does not have a thermostat installed, where is the thermostat at, I don't know if the part I bought mounts to block it looks big

If there is no thermostat on your car now is was probably removed, due to a overheating issue and they removed the thermostat.
