P01118 fault code check engine light stays on constant and battery power drains fast

I'm having issues with the power steering. Mine was hydraulic PS and the new engine has electric PS. New engine came out of 2006 chevy cobalt.

Vehicle: 2002 pontiac sunfire gt manual trans. 2.2L DOHC Ecotech engine
