I'm having an issue with a Code P0430 on my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. I just moved to a new city and the mechanic garage that I took my vehicle to told me that the code definitley means a bad catalytic converter and they're recommending replacing both catalytic converters (they told me my vehicle has two). Can anyone comment on this recommendation? I need to get my vehicle fixed right but without it costing an arm and a leg. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Vehicle: 2005, Nissan, Pathfinder SE, 4.6L V-6

I agree with your mechanic that you definitely need to replace the catalytic converter to fix the P0430 code, but you should replaced only the bad one. Unless you have some engine performance problems that are related to the catalytic converters, there is no need to replace both cats.
