Question

Shifting problems with 03 Dodge 2500 Diesel pickup (2WD) 4 speed automatic. Excessively high RPMs prior to shifting. Problem is sporadic and sometimes resolves by shutting down and restarting the truck. Showing codes P0700 and P0541.

P0700 Transmission control system malfuntion

When you get P0700 it should be accompanied by a transmission fault code, The air intake heater will not cause excessive high RPM prior to shifting, For the P0541 you can put a heater plug code P0541 eliminator, and away the code goes, For now check the transmission fluid have it up to proper level,
