If there is a problem with the throttle/pedal position sensor, wouldn't my check engine light be on at all times? My check engine light comes on after I fill my gas tank and goes off when my tank is about half full....I was told I need to get this replaced in order for my vehicle to pass inspection?? confused because my light is not always on and if it's not necessary to replace, I don't want to waste the money

Vehicle: Hyundai Santa Fe

Hi there,

The code indicates an issue with the Accelerator position sensor; however, since the light goes out, this is most likely an issue with the wiring to the sensor. Here is some info for you.
