Get a P0340 Code on Saab 9000. I have been told that this engine has NO "Cam Sensor".
Also, I cannot locate any parts supply that carries such a part. What does this code mean, if this engine does NOT have this part in it's inventory? What do I need to replace or do to fix my daughter's vehicle? There are no Saab dealers in this area, or qualified mechanics.

Vehicle: 1996 Saab 9000 Aero 2.3 L, 4 cyl

P0340 Camshaft position sensor no signal

You do have a cam position sensor it  is all in a discharge module, Check the sparkplugs also a ignition misfire can set this code, other than that it the ignition module

I was informed by 2 different Saab dealers that there is NO Cam Sensor on this 4 Cyl.  If what you say about my daughter's Saab is correct, how can I prove that the DI Cassette is BAD and how can he/she afford to purchase one, and where?  Thanks for your response!

Saab has a Trionic System the cam sensor is part of the discharge module, So in a way the dealer is correct, It is very important to check and inspect sparkplugs, even incorrect sparkplugs will set of P0340,wrong type of sparkplugs installed will also set of P0340.
