P0335 Nissan - 2000 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8l is throwing the P0335 code immediately after cleared. Car runs perfect..no hesitation or rough idle..good gas mileage. Replaced sensor and same thing. Checked Timing chain, ohm'd out sensor, checked continuity on all wires. Battery is fairly new and car cranks right over.

What could be causing a false p0335 code

What sensor did you replaced? the Crankshaft Position Sensor? usually replacing the sensor takes care of the code. Did you use a factory sensor? If the sensor and wires are OK, then the next step is to check the flex plate, which is what the sensor uses to pick up the signal of the crankshaft location.

I did replace the crank position sensor at the rear lower engine block. I used an aftermarket sensor from Advanced Auto. After getting the same result I put the factory one back in. The factory one was replaced 4 years ago under recall. What would cause an issue with the flex plate? Could it be that the ecu programming glitched? The car runs perfect, has 237,000 miles. Timing chain is immaculate and shows no sign of wear. I called Nissan about getting a diagnostic but they wouldn't tell me if it was just a code read or whether it would check the wave patterns of the sensors. Can the flex plate be inspected without a major service? Thanks for your response
