Jeep misfires, but when I restart the engine, it runs fine, what could be the problem?

Hi there,

I find the most common issue with this is either a leaking head gasket or a leaking fuel injector. It really depends on the year and model, but most often what happens is either will leak into the cylinder when it's sitting, then on first start you have misfires. Once the coolant or extra fuel is burned out it will usually run smoothly. You may not have to turn it off and back on to accomplish this.
