what does code po 130 mean and how do you fix it

I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand AM with a eco-tec 2.2 engine. code po 139 shows up on the meter. how do I fix this

P0130 = O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1

The code means that there is a problem with the front O2 sensor bank 1. More than likely you may have to replaced the sensor to repair the problem.

Comments

The sensor works that's why it's showing up. The problem is not the sensor I got that answer before myself. It makes no sense, i the sensor is telling you of a problems that the sensor found. The questions is what did the sensor find wrong.
