P0442 MAZDA - 3 2009 2.3 engine code

Question

I detected code P0442 on my mazda 3 2009 2.3 engine. I noticed the gas cap was not properly closed, I did close the gas cap properly and I drove the car ~ 10 miles but still the light is displayed. How long should I wait for the light to go off?, Am I missing anything?

Hi there,

It's difficult to say how long you will have to drive it before the light will go off. The car has to complete a drive cycle and perform a self test before the computer will turn off the light.
