i have a code P040, possable EGR wil this make my 1999 Ford F250 5.4 miss fire

P0401 EGR flow insufficient

P305 Misfire number 5 cylinder

If you have a partial open EGR yes number 5 and number 3 cylinder will more like have a misfire, But you have a P0401 a EGR insufficient , You have a coil on plug (COP) you can swap out number 5 with a known working cylinder
