I show code PO446. could it be EVAP canister vent control valve ( solenoid?).
Can this part be removed & replaced separately from the expensive canister ? should I replace the gas cap first?

Becuae of the location of the vent solenoid it does not survive in its enviroment. But you should always check the gas cap first if the seal is torn you will code up P0446, Also at the airfilter housing there is a vacuum line that tends to get disconnected when replacing the air filter so that should be checked also
