P0022 code, I have a 2001 BMW X5 4.4i model. I have tried two cam sensors. Any ideas?

This code is for the timing variable timing actuator, not the cam position sensor. So, I would replace the actuator, if that doesn't resolve the issue, then it's likely a problem with the mechanical timing.
