I have camry 1999 4 cylinder 2.2, and my timing belt was damaged yesterday on the highway. And, i towed it to the nearest service center, and the guy says that I need to replace the whole motor which is too expensive. But I found out that timing belt collapse does not affect valves, so I dont need to replace the whole motor. I talked with other mechanics, and they say that I only need to replace timing belt, water pump, and so on, not the whole motor. I think that guy wants to overcharge me! ANyway, I am confused could you help me out what do I really need?
Thank you Reynaldo, you always answer to my questions!
