Question

why will the check light on my 2007 f150 4.6 cid, has a po453 evap sensor high code, and when I clear code and start the engine the light stays off. and when I turn engine off and restart the truck the light check engine comes back on?

P0453 Evaporative emission system pressure sensor / switch high

This is a type "B" code, it is not catalytic damaging, so when you clear the code it clear, but will code up on the next ignition cycle, If you have a catalytic damaging code or type "A" it codes up instantly, For P0453 a sensor high is a disconnection of the harness, or a internal disconnection with the sensor itself, The FTP (fuel tank pressure) can be found at the fuel tank on the top of the fuel pump module
