Hey there!
My 2005 Altima 3.5S now shows the P0011 code.
It's been idle for while, and since, I changed the oil and filter and drove 1000 kms with the light on, no problem, the car drives like a charm : no idle roughness, etc.
Here is the funny thing I observed :
In order to pass an emission check, I went for an oil changed and put 5w30 Synthetic oil, reset the codes and drove 40 kms. My fuel tank was pretty much full. Results : No light on, e-test passed!
The day after I take the car for another drive and I am surprised to see the gaz tink at 3/4, as I drove only 50kms that day and may be 35 the day before...
Later on, the "Service Engine Soon" light pops back on AND the gaz indicator raises back at 7/8...
So, could it be something as stupid as the fuel tank cap? Or something like that?
I read some horror stories about P0011, so I could really use some reassurances here, lol!
All the best,
P0011 is for the Camshaft Position Sensor and should have nothing to do with the fuel tank level. You should check the code again and found out if is the same code. Like you said you may just have a loos gas cap.
