2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L 4x4 with engine code p0702, is there a way to test TCM or if the light's on it's bad?

This code actually means there is a code stored in the TCM or a problem in the wiring to the TCM. I would check the power to the tcm and get a scan tool that is capable of reading the transmission module.
