P0021 INFINITI - 2007...mechanic went through all procedures...engine light on

P0021 INFINITI - 2007 have went through all steps at mechanic for code. replaced sensor, engine flush, changed solenoid in the bank and light still comes on at 1500 rpm around 40mph everytime. HELP? Have had this problem for at least 1 month, feel car is having no issues in performance

Did you use factory valves? do you know which sensor and valve did he replaced? what side? usually replacing the valve and changing the oil takes care of the problem. It's possible the your mechanic may have replaced the wrong valve, which is not rare issue.

We had the engine flush and camshaft sensors changed at a Nissan dealer.. digging for the paperwork to figure out what kind and the oil has been replaced twice with synthetic blend (which we always use) A Japanese auto place we have been taking it re-checked everything the prior dealership did and replaced the oil and then changed the camshaft solenoid in bank 2...light came on shortly after... then we had them check the voltage to the solenoid and recheck the new part (everything fine) they noticed that there was a some sort of after market "boots" (sorry not to car savy) that went to the camshaft sensor? and they replaced those with the original ones from Infiniti...light came back on

The "Intake Valve Control Solenoid Valve" allow engine oil go through the valve to move the "Camshaft Sprocket" which is the part one attached to the camshaft and that allows the ECM to advance and retard the timing.

If the ECM is not detecting the camshaft advance and retarding the timing, then the problem could be:
- The camshaft sensor (which you already replaced)
- The Intake Valve Control Solenoid Valve  (which you already replaced)
- The camshaft sprocket
or
- Stretched timing chain.
