Can bad gas cause catalytic efficiency deteriate? No, the catalytci convertor degrades due to mileage ,It also degrades due to 02 sensor inability to switch as needed, In order for the catalytic to work properly it needs a rich condition and a lean condition and this is what a aspirated engine does, There are so many engine factors that can affect the catalytic convertor, and the main one is oil. and engine condition, Unless the fuel is contaminated with diesel fuel then yes.If you put a new rear 02 sensor on,and a aged front 02 sensor you get this code.With P0430 you may just need 02 sensor,
