P0012 FORD -i have 05 f-150 with 5.4 what is most likely the problem.

I have a p0012 on a 05 f150 no power bad gas mileage valves clatter real bad when giving it gas to pass vehicle. Was running fine then all of a sudden while idling check engine light came on. Help.

P0012 Intake camshaft postion timing over retarded

When the camshaft is over retarded, there is no power, check the oil level, make sure its up to the safe level, The cause of this code and condition is VCT solenoid valve stuck open, Replace the left and right side.
