Got a check engine light on my 2006 Dodge 2500 4x4 Diesel 5.9 Laramie. Went to Advance, they checked it, came up Code P1740. Anyone have a fix or suggestions for this. I did notice a while back before I got the engine light that it seemed to be a little jerky before shifting, like it would jump a little bit, but no engine light. Then a few weeks ago the light came on. Is this something I can take care of myself, I was told it could be a solenoid that needed replacing. Appreciate any help/advice.

P1740 Torque convertor clutch O/D solenoid performance

Yes you can just replace just the transmission assembly, But when you code up P 1740 the probable cause are still there, Here is what you will have to face, Is there excessive debris in the transmission, If there is you will need a rebuilt transmission, There is also  3-4 shift solenoid can be responsible for coding up P1740,And lets not forget the TCC solenoid itself, If you do the transmission assembly itself, you wil have to make it a hobby.
