P0446 CADILLAC -

Question

I own a 2002 Cadillac Deville in which I replaced both the fuel pump and filter because I ran out of gas and burnt My fuel pump out. The fuel gage was not working . Since than after a couple of days My service engine soon light comes on ... I've reset it five times but again the  light comes on after a few days of driving... The trouble code is PCM P0446

The code is for an incorrect purge flow on the evap system. Since you replaced the fuel pump I would start by checking the seal between the pump and the tank. If it's leaking vapor, then the pressure sensor will see no change in the pressure and tell the computer there is a problem with the purge flow. IF it looks good, then do a smoke test on the car to find the leak.
