how do I test the VIAS solenoid

I have a P1800 code but no CEL. 2003 Nissan Altima S.E 3.5. How do I check for a faulty VIAS solenoid valve?.

First, check for power on the red/yellow wire. If there is power, then the next test would be to make sure the yellow/green wire goes to ground when it's up around 2500 rpms. You should also see the arm moving to the power valve on the collector when it's working. If you don't see any movement, check for vacuum leaks on the hoses and make sure the diaghram on the power valve isn't leaking. If that looks wood, replace the solenoid
