P1271 GMC - how do i fix this

i have a 2002 envoy with a p1271 code how do i resolve this

Hi there,

This code is for the accelerater position sensor. This is usually the result of a bad sensor on the gas pedal. The sensor uses two signals and when one of them fails the code will set. Most often the issue is the sensor itself, however you should check the wiring because of it's location sometimes it can get corroded.
