P0440 - Could the NVDL be bad? What are symptoms of P0440?

P0440 Could the NVDL be bad and cause P0440,yes it can, P0440 is EVAP emmission control system malfunction This code,if it is by itself requires a verification,If it is accompanied by any of the other EVAP codes they are to be diagnose first, P0440 by itself will require a visual and physical  inspection of the entire evaporative emmission system which includes the following.

Evap hoses disconnected or left off, Holes or crack in the EVAP system ,loose seal points,Damage EVAP component,incorrect routing of hoses and tubes, fuel cap left off or bad fuel cap seal.Evap purge solenoid vacuum supply hose,making sure its not pinched or blocked to the throttle body to the purge solenoid,
