My 2002 jeep overland has been cutting off while driving and especially at stops. I notice that the idle fluctuates rapidly during starts and right before it cuts off. I used the "obd II" pocket scaner a recieved a code "P1294" which reads injector high side open bank 2/ target idle not reached. Could you explain to me the meaning and cause, more inportantly how to fix it. Thank You Rick.

We have update the information for the code page.

P1294 JEEP - Target Idle Speed Not Reached

Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p1294_jeep.html

The possible causes for the problem are:

- Vacuum leak
- Throttle cable not free
- Idle speed screw misadjusted

Start by checking for vacuum leaks. If no leaks are found you could try disconnecting the car battery for 15-2- min to reset the engine light and idle.
