P0720 DODGE -

Question

i have a 98 dodge ram 4wd 1500. just replaced trans, put new trans in and got 0720 code. replaced sensor with my old one now every once in a while it shifts out of 3rd back to 2nd then back to 3rd. also the other day i was passing a car on hwy and while i was passing the trans slipped out of gear, i let off and it went back in gear. any ideas???? replace sensor with new???

P0720 Speed sensor circuit malfunction.

You are dealing with a intermittent speed sensor, you need to check the harness for proper connection,also there is the toner when you remove the sensor does the toner have metalic debris and this goes for the sensor itself,
