I have a 1999 Honda Oodyssey. About 4 times in the last 6 months when I start the car, when it's cold, the check engine light comes on, and the car runs really ruff. If I turn off the engine and restart the car once or twice the engine then starts and seems to run fine (even though the check engine light stays on). After this last time this happened, I drove the car for a while and then checked the error codes. I was getting an error code of P0118. Which signifies a problem in the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor circuit. I checked the resistance across the sensor and for a 5 volt reference at the sensor and both checked out fine. Any idea what could be causing this problem?

P0118 is high voltage in ECT sensor circuit.,You basically need a data stream for this wether it be generic or factory,Firt check for poor connection at the ECT, Then the PCM, Disconnect the ECT jump the terminal together,On the scan tool it should show -4*F (-20*C),and 5 volts should be indicated on the ECT voltage. If yes and its all good replace the ECT sensor.
