I have a 96 kia sephia with code po170 and po140 how do they relate? i am trying to narrow the problem. Is it the o2 sensor or maf? please help.

Vehicle: 1996 kia sephia 1.8L

HI there,

The codes could be related. The P0140 is for a lack of response from the rear O2 sensor. This could cause a rich mixture condition and the P0170 code. I would replace the rear O2 sensor and then clear the codes. If the P0170 comes back then check for a blockage in the catalytic converter and check the maf sensor.
