2001 Cadillac Catera with engine code P1700

Question

2001 Cadillac Catera.

Code P1700 showing.

Check engine light on.

S light flashing.

Replaced 3 times a new neutral safety switch and none of them worked.

Had to put old one back in.

Ordered a TCM now.

What is my problem?

This code really means there is a code stored in the TCM. You will need a scan tool that can read or connect with the TCM to find out where the original issue is.
