The vehicle does not accellerate properly, particularly accelleration to a higher speed after cruising for some time. The gas pedal seems to have no effect until all at once it kicks in.

There are two speed sensors in the U151E transaxle used in the FWD Sienna.  One is located under the air filter box and the second in located under the battery tray support.  Both parts are often referred to as transmission speed sensors even though a code reader calls it the Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor. They are attached to the transaxle via a12 mm bolt and a rubber o-ring is used to seal in the transmission fluid. Both parts interchange and have the same part number. They cost about 100 dollars each, so shop around, the price varies a bit.  Remove the sensor and check the resistance with a V.O.M (Volt Ohm Meter). The range is 560 to 680 ohms at 68 degrees F. Don’t use the continuity option because the internal coil in the sensor pickup could be destroyed. When replacing or reinstalling the sensor, liberally coat the o-ring and the part of the plastic shaft that inserts into the transaxle with clean transmission fluid. Be suret the sensor is perfectly seated and flat on the transaxle housing  before tightening the bolt. A click will be hear/felt when the electrical connection is properly seated . Torque the hold down bolt to 8 ft.lbs. Best of luck to you !
